Wellington Mayor Kerry Prendergast is ready to dig in and earn a drink by giving Fletcher Construction’s Wellington manager Greg Pritchard (left) and Melview managing director Nigel McKenna a hand to build the new Holiday Inn, but fortunately, the mechanical digger is there too.
The $65 million, 17-storey hotel, which will have 238 rooms, is on the corner of Featherston and Whitmore streets in central Wellington, and is due to be finished by mid-2006.
