The Westin Auckland Lighter Quay is not only the best hotel in Auckland, as evidenced by the numerous awards this international hotel chain has won, its also a one-stop-shop to sleep, eat, drink and relax in style.

The Westin’s unique waterfront location on the edge of the Viaduct Harbour combined with its innovative New Zealand design, stunning restaurants and bars was the first choice of fashionistas this Air New Zealand Fashion Week. Fashion powerhouse Zambesi redefined convention with an intriguing installation with their take on water-front dining in the hotel’s water feature, while foremost fashion brand Cybele and renowned glass artist Layla Walter collaborated on a sculptural glass centrepiece in the hotel’s Living Room.

On the socialising front you can choose from several chic options at the hotel. Kick-start your day with a catch up over an Allpress coffee hit from Toast Café. Opening onto the picturesque promenade, this café is a popular choice with locals and hotel guests offering great coffee and alfresco dining.

The office bar is a stylish waterfront bar always buzzing with locals and the after work crowd. Gleaming dark wood, special circular booths, mock croc-leather, an over-sized chandelier and flickering fire place set the tone of fashionable conviviality. With a great ambience and extensive drink menu many find The Office the perfect place to unwind. The hotel’s signature restaurant Q is a stunning, waterfront oasis. Enjoy breakfast or lunch al fresco style overlooking the Viaduct Harbour and city sky-line or experience elegant dining at night.

Q offers a contemporary yet warming ambiance combining glowing, back-lit marble teamed with curtains of shimmering chain link hung at strategic intervals. Double-sided open fires provide flickering flames for intimacy in the cooler weather, while in summer, bi-fold doors open onto the waterfront esplanade for guests to enjoy the marina activity. The walls and bar counter are fashioned from Mexican Onyx marble. Large floor to ceiling windows ensure every table has a view.
